‘US not at war with Islam and Muslims’
By: Mohamed Ali
WASHINGTON: The US government is ever
willing to listen to the views of Muslims, not only those living in
the United States but also abroad.
This was stated by Duncan MacInnes, the US State Department
coordinator for Muslim outreach program, on Wednesday.
The program launched recently had a two-prong strategy to listen to
the views of Muslims worldwide, with one targeting Muslims residing in
the US and the other aimed at Muslim nations that believe in
moderation and tolerance, he said.
“We want to hear the views of Muslims on our policy, may it be
domestic or foreign. We also have to reach out to Muslim nations. So
far, we have learnt a lot.”
On the role of the Muslim outreach program overseas, he said there was
a general feeling that the US was at war with Islam and Muslims.
“This is wrong...we have no problems with Islam. We have many friends
who are Muslims. It is only propaganda by some radical Muslim groups
that have painted this picture.”

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
