Germany: Mourning rites held to commemorate Karbala Tragedy

ESSEN, Germany: Eternal and unparalleled
sacrifices of Imam Hussein (AS) along with his 72 loyal companions to
defend Islam & Shariah and protect high human values are also being
commemorated in different German cities.
Various organizations and bodies made arrangements to hold majales al-aza
and take our processions at mosques, imambargahs, husseiniyat and
Islamic centers.
Maukab Shiiato Ali (AS) organized an
eleven-day mourning program in Essen city to mark the Tragedy of
Karbala which even had caused the sky to rain blood and the earth to
bleed. The program which began on 11 February ended on majles Sham-e-Ghariban.
During these programs scholars described
in detail the tragedy of Karbala, and objective of Husseini Qayam when
Imam Hussein (AS) himself had said that he came out to correct the
ummah of his grandfather holy Prophet (SW) walking on the footsteps of
his grandfather (SW) and father Ali Al-Morteza (AS). They also
portrayed events of martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions
as well as their loyalty to Imam Hussein (AS).
The daily speeches were followed by
elegies presentation by renowned elegists, Azaa of Latom, recitation
of Zeyarah Al-Ashuraa and dinner from the table of Chief of Martyrs
Imam Hussein (AS).
On Ashuraa Day, a procession was taken
out under the arrangements of Maukab Shiiato Ali (AS) in Essen
attended by large number of mourners. Beating their chests and heads,
and chanting elegies and ‘wa Husseinah…’ the mourners offered
condolences to the respected court of holy prophet (SW), Imam Ali (AS)
and Sayyedah Fatimah Az-Zahraa (AS) on the unjust slaughter of their
son Imam Hussein (AS) some 1,400 years ago in the burning plain of
Karbala.
Sayyed Iqrar H. Naqvi from Pakistan and
Sayyed Javed Hussein from India recited majales in Hamburg mosques and
imambargahs while Ayatullah Hasan Raza Ghadiri in Berlin husseiniyah.
Mourners also arranged mourning programs
at Iran's cultural centers in Berlin and Cologne, and Islamic center
in Hamburg.
The mourning programs would continue till 8th of Raby Al-Olaa.
