Lebanon marks 26th anniversary of Islamic Revolution

BEIRUT, Lebanon: Marking the 26th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, a ceremony was held on Monday in the city of Nabtieh, southern Lebanon.

The representative of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon Sheikh Nabil Qavuq while addressing the gathering said Iran has consistently defended the rights of Palestinians and the resistance of the Lebanese people to the occupation of their lands and the grip of Zionists since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

He said that Middle East countries have earned the ire of the US and Zionist regimes because of the united approach of Iran and Syria to their expansionist and dictatorial policies.

Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Masoud Edrisi said: “Supporting the legitimate resistance of the Lebanese people in order to release occupied lands in southern Lebanon and giving spiritual support to the Palestinians are two of Iran`s main policies.”

The ceremony concluded with the Hezbollah Musical Group singing inspirational songs on the occasion.
