Bahrainis commemorate M-Anniversary of Imam Jawwad (s)

MANAMA, Bahrain: Martyrdom Anniversary of the ninth infallible successor of Holy Prophet Muhammad (s), Al-Imam Muhammad b. Ali At-Taqy Al-Jawwad (s), was observed in Bahrain with due fervor on 29 Dhul Qa’ada.

Marking the occasion, grand Majales Al-Azaiyah (mourning sittings) were held in all mosques, husseiniyaat and maatam while Mawakeb Al-Azaiyah (mourning processions) were taken out.

Mourners, mostly in black mourning dresses, offered their condolences to holy Prophet (s) on the martyrdom anniversary of his grandson by attending these gatherings and performing azadari rituals.

Speakers and dirge-chanters paid rich homage to the holy Imam (s) who was martyred through poison at the age of 25 as a punishment for preaching truth. The speakers urged the need of treading in the footsteps of Imam Al-Jawwad (s) for success in this world and the hereafter.
