Gilgit martyrs mourning programs end on TNFJ call By: Salman Alvi
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Majalis-e-Taraheem, condolence meetings and protest programmes were organised throughout the country at the conclusion of two-day mourning of Gilgit incident martyrs as per announcement of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Syed Hamid Moosavi. In Federal Capital Islamabad, various religious organisations and institutions organised Majalis-e-Taraheem in which terrorism in Gilgit was strongly condemned and it was considered a well thought-out conspiracy aimed at sabotaging the steps taken by President Gen. Pervez Musharraf to root out terrorism. Martyrs Conference was held at Jamia Wali-ul-Asr under the auspices of TNFJ, MFP and MSO district Islamabad in which leaders and people belonging to different schools of thought participated in a large number. Allama Basharat Hussain Imami, District TNFJ President while addressing the Conference said, the whole world is confronted with the menace of terrorism but in Pakistan this “disease” continued progressing unabated. President Musharraf took good steps to root out terrorism that were lauded here and abroad alike and all patriotic and peace-loving forces praised those steps. He said had the steps taken by the President transformed into reality then the situation would not have gone worse in Balochistan, Karachi, Northern Areas and other cities of the country. Terrorism could not be controlled unless character and deeds are synchronised. The TNFJ Islamabad President said that Gen. Pervez Musharraf must identify that why banned groups are working with new names, are a part of political alliances rather are visible within the ranks of the government and the opposition besides getting full protocol. He said electronic and print media, particularly the private TV channels are also giving extensive coverage to them. The banned groups have no programmes and they are totally failed, therefore, any incident happening in the country becomes power for their soul in the garb of which they commit lawlessness and cause damage to property. He said even the government seems to be helpless against them. He said if the situation remained the same then the conditions could take a worse turn. He said the Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Syed Hamid Moosavi has announced in clear-cut terms that a terrorist keeps no Maktab or a country, he is only a terrorist but it seems that even the government does not understand a polite language and it has shut her eyes, therefore, it could not identify her friends and foes. A resolution adopted on the occasion strongly demanded from the government to set up a Tribunal forthwith to probe the Gilgit incident so as to give exemplary punishment to the culprits. The resolution called upon the President to form a Committee to probe the elements sabotaging the Anti-Terrorism Act. The resolution made it clear that the TNFJ is the only organisation that represents the Maktab-e-Tashayyo and that had organised eight-month long agitation and took over the Pakistan Secretariat in favour of its demands but did not lose patience and respected the Constitution and the law of the land. The resolution said that our gentlemanliness should not be considered as our weakness as we have always given preference to the interests of the religion, motherland and its people over all other things. The resolution questioned that why those who took law into their hands in the garb of Gilgit incident, did not create fuss in Balochistan and Sarhad? Fateha Khawani was offered for Maulana Ziauddin Rizvi and other martyrs at the conclusion of the Conference. END
