Eid-i-Vilayat observed in Iran with due honor By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani
HOLY CITY OF MASH’HAD, Iran: Marking the auspicious occasion of Eid-i-Vilayat and Imamate – Eid-i-Ghadeer Khom -, Iran was draped in pleasure and happiness. Holy shrines, tombs, mosques, hosainiyaat, buildings and streets were beautifully decorated with colorful buntings and bright lights. Flocks of devotees began thronging at the holy shrines of Hazret-e-Imam Ali Reza (a.s.) and Hazret-e-Fatimeh Al-Masoumeh (a.s.) in the holy cities of Mash’had and Qom from the eve of Eid-e-Ghadeer Khom, which marks the day when Chief of Prophets Hazret-e-Muhammad (s.w.) declared Hazret-e-Ali (a.s.) his successor after the revelation of a Quranic verse demanding him to declare the same.
Special gatherings were held at the holy mausoleums attended by tens of thousands of devotees. They renewed their oath of allegiance for the Master of Believers Hazret-e-Ali (a.s.). Supreme Leader of the country addressing a gathering to mark the occasion greeted people for Eid-i-Ghadir Khom. People wore new dresses, distributed sweetmeats, greeted the holy family of Prophet (s.w.) and each other, cooked special dishes and arranged feasts to celebrate the happy occasion. END |
