MANAMA, Bahrain: Throngs of mourning devotees participated in the
mourning gatherings and processions that were held to commemorate the
Death Anniversary of Sayyidah Omm`ol Banin Al-Arba’ah (peace be upon
her) in Bahrain.
At Majales Al-Azaiyah, or the mourning sittings, at mosques,
husseiniyat and Ma’atam across the country, speakers and scholars
highlighted the life of Sayyidah Omm`ol Banin Al-Arba’ah (peace be
upon her) whose real name was Fatimah, the daughter of Hezam.
They said Sayyidah Omm`ol Banin Al-Arba’ah (peace be upon her) was
that great lady who wrote a matchless history of sacrifice by
presenting her four sons for martyrdom in the plain of Karbala in 61
AH. Qamr Bani Hashem Abbas (peace be upon him), the flag-carrier of
Al-Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him)’s host was her eldest son.
Grand mourning processions attended by thousands of black-dressed
mourners were held at different venues.


A procession was brought out from husseiniyah Alhaj Ahmed bin Khamis.
Mourners were beating their heads and chests to signify grief over the
death of Omm`ol Banin (peace be upon her) offering condolences to
AHl`ol Beit (peace be upon them).
Husseini elegists Abduljabbar Ad-Darazi, Hussein Sahwan, Said Al-Kedad,
Mirza Al-Aradi and Ali Salman recited elegies during the gathering.
