Qabalan to Churches Council: Islam rejects terrorism

BEIRUT, Lebanon: Vice-President of Higher Shiia Council Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan told a delegation from the Middle East Council of Churches that Islam rejects terror.

“Islam rejects terrorism and violence and is against the racism incarnated by the state of Israel,” Qabalan said urging both Christians and Muslims to abandon sectarianism.

The delegation included the secretary general of the Middle East Council of Churches, Gerges Ibrahim, and several members of German Evangelical churches.

Qabalan praised “the way Germany deals with Arab and Islamic communities.”


Lebanon Higher Shia Council: Politicians must practice their words

NABATIEH, Lebanon: Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan, the Lebanese Higher Shia Council Vice President, has demanded that the new Parliament adopt a different political approach because Lebanon needs to increase its efforts, consolidate cooperation and promote responsibility to face the upcoming local and foreign challenges.
