Thousands attend funeral services of Saudi Ayatullah

AL-AHSAA, Saudi Arabia: Ayatullah Sheikh Hussein bin Sheikh Muhammad Al-Khalifa, one of the grand clerics of Al-Ahsaa, Saudi Arabia, was buried in presence of tens of thousands of people in the kingdom.

Ayaat, maraje and leaders including Ayatullah Sheikh Mirza Jawwad Tabrezi, head of Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, Qaed Millat-e-Jafariya Sayyed Hamid Mosavi who also leads Tehreek Nafaz-i-Fiqh-e-Jafariya have extended condolences on the death of Ayatullah Al-Khalifa.

Tens of thousands of people led by clerics and elites attended funeral services of late Ayatullah who had died on 26 July at the age of 102.

The funeral prayer was offered in Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) mosque, Dammam. Later the dead body was taken to Al-Mabraz, Al-Ahsaa and buried in Al-Mabraz cemetery.

Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mahmoud Ash-Shahroudi, Sheikh Murtadha Al-Yassin, Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim and Syed Abul Qassem Al-Khoei were his prominent teachers.

He spent 30 years in holy Najaf and was a leading member of late Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim’s scholarly council for verdicts.
