By: Anjum Kermani
SYDNEY, Australia: A Husseini Procession
was held in Sydney, comprised of hundreds of mourning devotees, for
the first time in the history of Australia.
The black-dressed mourners – men, women and children - in the
procession that was taken out on the Day of Ashura were chanting
Husseini dirges in one voice after Husseini elegists Sayyed Hussein
Al-Husseini and Al-Haj Majid Al-Ebadi, and beating their heads and
chests with hands to signify their grief over the sufferings of Imam
Hussein (A) and his Ahlul Bait (A).

Mourners belonging to different
countries that reside in Sydney participated in the two-hour
procession which culminated at speeches by Ayatullah Sheikh Muhammad
Hussein Al-Ansari in Arabic, Hujjatul Islam wa Al-Moslimin Sayyed
Shabeer Rizvi (from London) in Urdu, Hujjatul Islam wa Al-Moslimin
Sayyed Jawad Hashemi Nejad (from Holy Qum) in Persian, and Haj Zain
Sharif in English.
He read to the mourners a proclamation about Imam Hussein (A), his
stand, objective of his stand (Qayam) and his high status in the sight
of Allah and holy Prophet (S), as well as non-Muslims. It was
distributed to the people of other religions present at the march.

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
