DAMASCUS/ISLAMABAD: Mourning programs in memory of Sayedah Sakinah bent-ul Hussein (A) were held in different countries including Syria and Pakistan extending deep condolences to Imam Hussein (A) on the martyrdom and sufferings of his most beloved daughter (A).

In Syria, throngs of mourning devotees from other global parts and Syrian cities visited the holy shrine in Damascus of Imam Hussein (A)’s four-year-old daughter Sakinah (A) about whom he was used to say: “A house where there Sakinah is not, I don’t like it.”

Big day and night majalis were held and aza-ul lattam was performed at the shrine. Speakers depicted the sufferings and martyrdom of Sayedah Sakinah (A) after the unjust slaughter of her father Imam Hussein ben Ali ben Abi Taleb (A) on Ashura in the scorching plain of Karbala.

Elegies were recited to signify deep grief over the moseebah of the granddaughter of Imam Ali Al-Mortaza (A) and Sayedah fatemah Az-Zahraa (A).

Flocks of mourners gathered at the holy mausoleum of Imam Hussein (A)’s sister Sayedah Zaynab ben-e-Ali (A), arranged majalis, performed chest beating, recited dirges and thus offered their condolences to her on the martyrdom of her niece Sakinah bent-ul Hussein (A) who was buried in her blood-stained shirt by her chained brother Imam Ali ben Al-Hussein Zayn-ul Abidein (A).

Mourners from various countries also visited the memorial of Imam Hussein (A), the grandson of prophet Muhammad (S), at the ancient Umayyad mosque in old Damascus extending condolences.

In Pakistan, majalis-e-aza were held in different cities including capital Islamabad and its twin city Rawalpindi. President TNFJ district council Islamabad addressed a majlis-e-aza at Imambargah Qasr-e-Khadija-tul Kobra (A) Islamabad and highlighted sacrifices of innocent children in the battle of Karbala. Later, matam was performed participated by Qamar Bani Hashim (A) matmi corp.

Qalandar Committee Pakistan organized a big majlis-e-aza at the shrine of Sakhi Shah Pyara Kazemi Al-Mash’hadi Chuhr Harpal Rawalpindi marking the occasion. Khateeb Fateh Furat and Allama Sayed Matloub Taqy addressed.

In their speeches, they said grave of Sakinah bent-ul Hussein (A) in the prison of Syria and stains of slaps of Shimar (L) on her holy cheeks is that inerasable blemish on the cheek of history which stands witness on the helplessness of Aal-e-Muhammad (A).

Several matmi organizations performed matam at the culmination of the majlis. Later, langar (dinner from the table of Imam Hussein (A)) was served to the mourners.
