HOLY CITY OF QOM, Iran: Ayatullah Al-Haj Seyed Ali Al-Hosayni Ash-Shahroudi has died in this mid-Muharram in the holy city of Qom, which hosts the holy mausoleum of Syedah Fatimeh Al-Masoumeh (p), daughter of Imam Mousa Al-Kazem (p).

The late Ayatullah was son of Grand Al-Marjay Ad-Dini, or the top religious authority, Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mahmoud Al-Hosayni Ash-Shahroudi (qoddesa sirrohu) and brother of Grand Ayatullah Al-Haj Seyed Muhammad Al-Hosayni Ash-Shahroudi.

His funeral was held at Al-Imam Al-Askary (p) mosque in Holy Qom. He was laid to rest near the holy grave of Syedah Fatimeh Al-Masoumeh (p).

Ayatullah Al-Haj Seyed Ali Al-Hosayni Ash-Shahroudi (late) spent all his life serving the holy mission of holy Prophet (p) and his Ahlol Beit (p). He was seen with high respect and great devotion in religious, intellectual and social stratums courtesy to his kindness, good manners and broad-heartedness.

He had a big role for Marjaiyah in contacting with Islamic societies particularly followers of Mazhab-i-Haqqa across the globe and taking care of their affairs by sending preachers and representatives, erecting mosques and hosayniaat and building madares ilmiya in all parts of the world besides drawing students to Al-Hawzaat Al-Ilmiya particularly Hawzah of Holy Najaf.
