LEEDS, United Kingdom: Like other cities of the United Kingdom, Azadari programs to commemorate eternal unparalleled sacrifices of Martyrs of Karbala and Prisoners of Syria from the progeny of holy Prophet (s.w.) some 1,400 years backs were also held in Leeds.

These azadari programs – majalis, matam, neyaz - were organized by various organizations at different mosques, husseiniyat, imambargahs and Islamic centers including Imam Ali (p) Mosque and Leeds Ahlulbayt (p) Cultural Center.

In their speeches, speakers and scholars highlighted the philosophy of Karbala tragedy, objectives of Imam Hussain (p)’s stand, role of Aseeran-e-Sham led by Imam Ali bin Al-Hussain Zain-ul-Abideen (p) and Hazrat Zainab (p) in disseminating message of hussainiat, and sufferings of Ahlulbayt (p).
