ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: “Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Aalam” (Day of World Martyrs) was observed on Friday with religious and national spirit on the call of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi to pay homage to all those who fell victim to terrorism.

Majalis-e-Tarheem were held at Imambargahs in all small and big cities, towns and villages of all the four provinces and Northern Areas including the Federal Capital Islamabad while Quran Khwani was arranged for martyrs at mosques and religious schools.

Speakers, Friday prayer leaders and orators strongly condemned the tragic incidents of terrorism and while highlighting the philosophy of martyrdom declared the death of martyr an eternal life of the nation.

In Islamabad, main gathering of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Aalam was held at Markazi Masjid and Imambargah Qasr-e-Khadijatul Kubra. Allama Basharat Hussain Imami in his address on the occasion said, nations get new lease of life from the blood of martyrs while respect of Sha’a’ir-Ullah, holy places and pious shrines is obligatory. He said massacre of innocent people in Palestine, Kashmir, Afghanistan and Iraq by international Taghoot and its agents in the garb of rooting out terrorism is not only condemnable rather this inhuman activity has unveiled the international Taghoot in open as it was trying to create an excuse for interference there by spreading fear and harassment amongst the oppressed nations and the Islamic World and by accusing them of violence and terrorism so as to reap the required benefits whenever and wherever desired.

He lamented that all international organisations including the United Nations were under the influence of Taghoot that is why they could not get the Kashmir and Palestine issues resolved yet as a result of which bloody holi and State terrorism was going on there. He said the international colonial power was opening new fronts, by waging civil war in Lebanon after the assassination of Hariri, hurling threats on Syria and Iran the day in and day out and by extending all out help to Zionists and Hindus.

He said the world could not be turned into a hub of peace without giving up dual standards. Therefore in this situation the Islamic World and the oppressed nations will have to wake up from deep slumber, and lay down a courageous strategy and fulfil the norms of justice and fair-play for achievement of rights and protection of humanity.

Allama Abul Hassan Taqi (A.S.) addressing the main gathering of Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Kazmia said, the motherland Pakistan is the target of terrorism for a long time and President Pervez Musharraf tried to control this menace by taking courageous steps and introducing Anti-Terrorism Act rather he also imposed restrictions on extremist terrorist organisations.

But despite that, he added, incidents of terrorism were going on and the gory murder of Allama Ghulam Hussain Najfi and Allama Ziauddin Rizvi is the heinous conspiracy aimed at sabotaging the Anti-Terrorist Act. He called upon the government to take notice of the activities of the banned groups working with new names and tackle them with an iron hand. The gathering paid tributes to all martyrs of the world who laid down their life in defending the ideological and geographical frontiers of the religion and the motherland and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.

A resolution adopted on the occasion demanded from the government to arrest the murderers of all martyrs including that of Allama Ghulam Hussain Najafi and Allama Ziauddin Rizvi and give them exemplary punishment.

The resolution strongly condemned the desecration of Quran in Guantanamo bay and setting holy books like Quran, Nehjul Balagha and Saheefa-e-Kamila on fire in Yemen and declared these condemnable activities an insult to Islam.

While strongly condemning the derogatory cartoon against Pakistan published in Washington Times, another resolution demanded from the government to raise this issue of sensitive nature on international level. The resolution declared that at present the whole nation carries similar views.

Meanwhile, Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Aalam gatherings were also addressed by Allama Mohsin Al-Hussaini at Qasr-e-Abu Talib Mughalabad, Allama Zawwar Hussain Madni at Haideria Masjid Chittian Hattitan, Zakir Nazir Hussain Jafri at Imambargah Zain-ul-Aza, Maulana Tabassum Abbas Kazmi at Ali Hall, Allama Guftar Hussain Sadiqi at Jamia Masjid Jafariya I-9, and Allama Saqlain Bokhari at Darbar Sakhi Shah Chan Chiragh.
