RAWALPINDI, Pakistan : “Youm-e-Askari” (Askari Day) was observed throughout the country with religious enthusiasm, spirit, devotion and respect in connection with birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hassan Askari (A.S.) on the call of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi.

Mahafil-e-Milad, conferences and seminars were organised in all small and big cities, towns and villages in which ulema, waizeen, khutaba and zakireen highlighted the seerat and character of Hazrat Imam Hassan Askari (A.S.) terming the practical following of which the best source of success here and the Hereafter.

In twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Mahafil and religious functions were organised by different religious organisations. Allama Syed Qamar Zaidi addressing the Mehfil-e-Askari organised at Ali Hall under the auspices of Hae’at Tulaba-e-Islam said, at present the world of humanity was confronted with all types of problems and difficulties getting rid of which required to follow in the foot-steps of Hazrat Imam Askari (A.S.) who adopted the policy of patience and forbearance to confront tyranny and dictatorship with courage and performed valued services for the supremacy of religion and Shariah keeping the principles intact, as a result of which flag of Islam is fluttering with full force today.

The participants of the meeting adopted a unanimous resolution making it clear that Pakistan is the result of joint struggle of all recognised schools of thought and by the grace of God, it is not a sectarian State rather Islamic Republic of Pakistan as per its Constitution.

The resolution said that excess and injustice is being meted out to Maktab-e-Tashayyo for the last 55 years one example of which is the curriculum being taught in schools, colleges and universities in which they did not even spare Islamiyat, History, Urdu and English subjects. In these books feelings of Ahle Sunnat Muslims and Maktab-e-Tashayyo were violated which is against the Constitution.

It said that in Article 227 of the Constitution, that explanation of Quran and Sunnah has been declared believable that is recognised by every Maktab while on the contrary a particular Maktab has been showed as supreme in the curriculum which is unfair so much so that revelation of Wahi and Ilhaam on the Holy Prophet (SAW) has been presented as a laughing stock. It has been mentioned that the Holy Prophet (SAW) had left prayer during battle of Khandaq, the sacrifices rendered by Ahle Bait (A.S.) have been concealed while name of the biggest criminal of Karbala incident Yazid has been wiped out. The biggest derogation is that Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S.) has been mentioned as a non-Muslim (Islamiyat BA 31), it said.

The resolution expressed concern that the group that prepares curriculum belongs to a particular school of thought in which Maktab-e-Tashayyo has not been given any representation and representative organisations are not also contacted. The resolution expressed surprise that on one side President Pervez Musharraf condemns sectarianism and terrorism while he did not take any notice of this biggest injustice committed against Maktab-e-Tashayyo, which was creating negative impact on Northern Areas where unrest and anarchy of acute nature is going on as a result of which Students Action Committee has been formed there and schools and colleges there are closed for quite long now.

The resolution appealed President Pervez Musharraf to take suo moto notice of this unpleasant situation. The Maktab-e-Tashayyo has always adopted the policy of patience and condemned anarchy and unrest.

Another resolution while expressing complete solidarity with the oppressed nations the world over including the people of Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan reiterated support for the freedom fighters struggling for achievement of Al-Quds calling upon all big organisations to get all types of oppression, suppression and brutality stopped at all places including Afghanistan and Iraq and ensure pullout of allied forces and get the massacre going on in Iraq stopped forthwith.

The gathering resolved that practical struggle for supremacy of Islam and display of hatred against oppression and brutality would continue till the restoration of justice and fair-play.

Maulana Ijlal Haider Haideri, Zakir Syed Matloob Hussain Kazmi, Syed Tabassum Abbas Kazmi, Syed Arif Al-Hussaini, Syed Jawwad Kazmi, Syed Riwayat Hussain Ravi, and Syed Mushahid Hussain Kazmi also addressed the gathering.
