AL-QATEEF, Saudi Arabia: Grand celebratory programs and festive gatherings were witnessed in oil-rich eastern region of Saudi Arabia in connection with Zekra Mauled or the birth anniversary of Al-Imam Aba Muhammad Al-Hasan Al-Askary (A).

In other regions of the kingdom, such observances are barred by the government.

Swarms of devotees attended these gatherings held at mosques, Ma’atm, husseiniyat and residences. Streets, buildings and religious sites were beautifully decorated with lights, flowers and buntings marking the auspicious occasion.

Sheikh Muhammad Ad-Darweysh addressed a celebration at Al-Imam Al-Hasan (A) mosque in Al-Jarodiyah and threw light in detail on different aspects of the holy life of Al-Imam Al-Askary (A). He said holy life of Chief of Prophets Prophet Muhammad (S) and his Ahl-ol Bayt (A) is a beacon of light for whole humanity.

Al-Ghadir Council arranged a festivity at husseiniyah Abdurrahim in Tarout. Sheikh Abbas Al-Mahros addressed while eulogist Fathi Al-Bazer and many others recited eulogies in praise of the eleventh Imam (A) from the progeny of holy Prophet Muhammad Al-Mostafa (S).

Similar programs were also held at husseiniyah Al-Aseel in Al-Jarodiyah, Al-Qateef, organized by Folk`on Nejat committee and at husseiniyah Al-Ashor in Al-Awjam.
