MONTREAL, Canada: In connection with the birth anniversary of holy Prophet (SW) and sixth infallible imam from his progeny, Al-Imam Jafar As-Sadeq (AS), festive gatherings were held in Canada.

Al-Haura Zainab (AS) mosque and husseiniyah organized a celebratory program in Montreal that was largely attended by local residents as well as those belonging to Iraq and Lebanon.

Al-Haj Salem Abo Manaf opened the program with recitation of holy Quran.

Canadian national Mr Dier Kestouma, who converted to Islam (Mazhab-i-Haqqa), addressed on the occasion. He called on people to follow in the footsteps of holy Prophet (SW) and his Ahl-ol Beit (AS) who were an embodiment of peace, love and moderation.

Sheikh Hassan At-Tayi, in his speech, threw light on the holy life of Chief of Messengers (SW) and his infallible descendant Al-Imam As-Sadeq (AS). He urged the need of sticking strictly to the teachings of Seal of Prophets, Prophet Muhammad (SW) and Al-Imam As-Sadeq (AS) in order to present to the world true picture of Islam which is religion of peace and harmony.

Eulogies were also recited to mark the festive occasion.

Later, dinner from the Table of Holy Prophet (SW) was served to the participants.
