Stop discrimination against Shias, Ayat Ruhani tells Yemen

By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani

HOLY CITY OF MASH’HAD, Iran: Ayatullah Seyed Muhammad Sadiq Ar-Ruhani, in a statement, denounced oppression and brutal massacre being carried out against Mo’mineen at the hands of Yemen government which through such operations is attempting to wipe out followers of Ahl-ol Bayt (AS).

He said the Yemeni government is killing hundreds of innocent Shia Muslims (Zaidiyah and Isna Ashariyah), leveling houses and towns by using ever-new weapons, jets, tanks and missiles without any justification.

Ayatullah Ar-Ruhani said the government’s discriminatory orders against Shia Muslims in the past few months are no more secret.

Shias are not allowed to practice their beliefs as they were banned to celebrate Eid Al-Ghadir (the festival which marks the occasion when holy Prophet (SW) appointed Imam Ali (AS) as his successor); they are prohibited to utter ‘come to the best of deeds’ in Azan (prayer call), observe mourning to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) on Ashura; Nahj-ol Balagha (Peak of Eloquence, a book which contains sermons and sayings of Master of Believers Imam Ali (AS), son-in-law and cousin of holy Prophet (SW) and fourth caliph of all Muslims) and Sahifah As-Sajjadiya (a book which consists of supplications and prayers by holy Prophet (SW) fourth infallible descendant Imam Ali bin Al-Hussein Zayn-ol Abideen (AS)) were confiscated and torched in the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa, the Ayatullah noted.

Supporting a statement released by Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah in the holy city of Najaf (IRAQ) on what is happening in Yemen, the Ayatullah warned the doers and backers of this oppression towards Muslims either in Iraq or Yemen that the table may turn over them sooner or later.

Ayatullah Ar-Ruhani said we hope that the responsible authorities would stop these oppressive and discriminatory practices.
