Mazhab-i-Ahl`ol Bayt (p) spreading increasingly in Algeria

By: Sultan Ahmed

ALGIERS, Algeria: Algerians who accepted mazhab-i-haqqa (at-tashayyo) in last few years said mashab-i-Ahl`ol Bayt (peace be upon them) is spreading more and more in the Algerian society, Al-Arabia reported.

According to the report the Shi’iyet is being disseminated through teachers and workers who came here for work from Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Researchers say that Shi’iyet is also spreading in some other African countries also including Tunisia and Morocco. In Morocco, Shi’iyet increased owing to three Shia cultural associations namely Al-Ghadir, Al-Basaer and At-Tavasol.

Overseer ‘Shiato Al-Jazaer’ network Muhammad Al-Ameri, 30, told Al-Arabia.net that at-tashayyo in Algeria, by the grace of Allah, is in continuation rather being blossoming in the Algerian soil. He said that now with the blessings of Saheb`ol Asr Vaz-Zaman (peace be upon him) – the last infallible successor of holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his pure progeny – the whole families are accepting mazhab-i-Ahl`ol Bayt (peace be upon them) and I heard that the elderly person who became Shia is 69 years old.

Al-Ameri further told that basically there is no prohibition from Algerian authorities for accepting Shi’iyet as article 61 of the constitution speaks of individual freedom for all citizens in adopting any beliefs and faith. And thanks to Allah, we have not faced any problem from the government in this regard.

Wedad, a resident of capital Algiers, who became Shia in Ramadan 2003, narrates reason of her leaving Mazhab Malki (most of Algerians follow mazhab Malki). She said reason was violence being confronted by her country for last many years at the hands of extremist Salafi organizations that commit massacre of innocents.

She further told her whole story on ‘Shiato Al-Jazaer’ network that she was living in severe religious depression because of Salafis heinous activities witnessed by her in the country. Then she by chance met an Iraqi man a week before Ramadan. I don’t know why asked him: “is he a Shia or non-Shia?” as if there was something pushing me to ask this question. That man told me about Shias, about Ahl`ol Bayt (progeny of holy Prophet, peace be upon them), their leadership, that they are vessel of deliverance and guidance and that they are oppressed. The love for Ahl`ol Bayt (peace be upon them) entered in my heart and through them I recognized Islam and its significance.

I got more faith when I saw in my dream Al-Imam Ar-Reda (peace be upon him) – the eighth infallible descendant of holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure progeny). The Imam put his hand on my shoulder and said to me: “fear not, Allah is with you”. Therefore, my love for Ahl`ol Bayt (peace be upon them) further augmented in my heart despite opposition of my family, she concluded.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand: International Shia Cultural and Human Rights Organization (ISCHRO) has begun its official activities in the field of culture and human rights for Shias throughout the world.
