GUJRANWALA, Pakistan: Allama Tajuddin Haideri, Central Vice-President of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan has said that firing on their vehicle on September 22 was a conspiracy to kill him, therefore, the government should arrest the culprits immediately and give them exemplary punishment.
 
He stated this while addressing a crowded Press conference here at a local hotel. Tehreek’s Provincial President Allama Syed Abu Jafar Naqvi, Chairman TNFJ Political Cell Dr. Iqbal Javed Haideri, Allama Zaid-ul-Hassan Zaidi, Maulana Azhar Haideri and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Allama Haideri narrating the detail of the life attempt on him said, he was coming back to his home in Gujranwala after addressing a Majlis in Multan that Thursday. When his vehicle reached at a distance from Saddar Police Station Gujranwala around 3.00 a.m. it slowed down owing to bad condition of the road. In the meanwhile, a Potohar Jeep in white colour that was following them for quite sometime came near them and the 3-4 terrorists riding that vehicle came down from the jeep and started firing on their vehicle and thrown a burst on him but he escaped miraculously as he laid down on the seat. However, his right hand was severely injured by the firing. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital where doctors provided him immediate treatment in the operation theatre.
 
Strictly denying the contents of the FIR registered by police in which the firing incident was mentioned as dacoity, he said, he had made it clear on the police officer of the police station concerned in the hospital that the attackers had come to take his life. He said they tried to kill him through firing instead of looting us. He said firing on him had taken place before also during the journey and even at his residence despite the fact that he has no personal enmity with anyone.
 
He said he is born citizen of Gujranwala and everyone knows his religious and political services.
 
Answering a question he said, he is giving this statement first time after the murder attempt. He lamented that neither high officials took care of him nor the lower level Administration issued any instructions for taking action against terrorists. Answering another question he said it is the job of police to investigate about the terrorists.
 
He, however, believed that the attackers were the same people who had attacked President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. Now the point of view of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi is being accepted that a terrorist keeps no religion, faith or a country, he is only a terrorist and should be dealt with only in that context.
 
He demanded from President Pervez Musharraf that the culprits of all incidents of terrorism including that of Bari Imam Incident should be arrested and given exemplary punishment.
 
Answering a question about the government crackdown against terrorists, he said some unseen forces were busy in thwarting the Anti-Terrorism Ordinance issued by President Pervez Musharraf the proof of which is that no big banned leader was arrested throughout the country rather some innocent persons and peaceful poor citizens and labours have been put into jails as an mere eyewash.
 
Responding a question about TNFJ efforts for restoration of law and order, Allama Haideri said that he had himself presented a 850-page “Moosavi Peace Formula” in the court of Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in which reasons and solutions of terrorism were mentioned and the President had issued the Anti-Terrorism Ordinance keeping those proposals in view.
 
When asked if the government did not take any action against the culprits of murder attempt then what would be his next line of action, Allama Haideri said, he belongs to representative organisation of the Maktab-e-Tashayyo i.e. Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan that has left the decision about the incident like Bari Imam to God owing to cold attitude of the government.
 
He reiterated that we could not be stopped from our pious mission of ‘Wila’ and ‘Aza’ through cowardice tactics like murder attempts, terrorism, murder and arson. Our foremost priority is Islam, Pakistan and its people.
 
Allama Haideri expressed the hope that the government would take a serious notice of murder attempt on him, would arrest and unveil the culprits and would give them an exemplary punishment. Otherwise, he added, we reserve our right to adopt a legal course.
