PARIS, France: Night of Qadr is best of all nights in merit, for Allah says in holy Quran: “We revealed it (Quran) on the Night of Qadr. Would that you knew what the Night of Qadr is! Better is the Night of Qadr than a thousand months. On that night the angels and the Spirit by their Lord’s leave come down with all His decrees. (That Night is) peace, till the break of dawn.”

No night, throughout the year, is on a level with this night. On account of its merits, surpassing excellence, superiority, and the superabundant bounties, benefits and favors this night bring for the mankind it leaves behind every night known for blessing.

As revealed in the Holy Quran the Night of 'Qadr' is better than a thousand months, therefore, acts done in these nights are better than the acts done in one thousands months.

This is the night in which the holy Quran was revealed, and it is called ‘Qadr’ because it is the night of honor and dignity.

In this night the 'Spirit' together with Angels descends and that which has been decided is shown to the 'Living Imam' Imam-ol Asr Al-Hojjah (AS).

Devotees of Ahl-ol Bayt (AS) observe Layali Al-Qadr on 19, 21, 23 nights of Ramadan. There go a number of traditions from Ahl-ol Bayt (AS) regarding estehbab (great reward) of zeyarah of Imam Hussein (AS) and visitation to his holy grave.

Glorious ceremonies of the Laylatul Qadr, or the Night of Glory, were held on 23rd night of the holy month of Ramadan at holy shrines of Ahlul Bayt (AS), mosques, hussainiyaat and Imambargahs across the world with spirituality and devotion.

To mark the occasion, speakers brought to light significance and glory of the glorious night.

Hundreds of thousands of worshippers flocked at the holy shrine of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) in the holy city of Karbala, Al-Imam Ali Ar Reda (AS) in the holy city of Mash’had, Sayedah Masoomah (AS) in the holy city of Qom, Sayyedah Zainab (AS) and Sayyedah Sakina (AS) in Damascus besides at mosques and hussainiyaat to perform special A`maal of the night.

In a complete spiritual atmosphere, devotees and worshippers spent the night wakeful, offering prayers, reciting Quran and supererogatory prayers, praying with their pure heart and whispering invocations to Allah throughout the night.

Layla Al-Qadr A`maal include zeyarah of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS), recitation of Surah Ar-Rom (The Romans), Surah Ad-Dukhan (The Smoke) and Surah Al-Ankaboot (The Spider), putting of Quran on head during a special prayer, recitation of dua-e-Joshan Kabir and asking forgiveness of Allah. Special prayers were made for supremacy of Islamic world and success of oppressed.
