Najaf Hauzah’s Ayat Al-Attar found martyred in Latifiyah

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: As dead bodies of more than 150 laborers,
martyred in Kazemiyah and Baghdad bombings, reached holy city of Najaf
for burial, corpse of abducted Dr. Ayatullah Sheikh Mehdi Al-Attar has
been found from a pit in Al-Latifiyah, a stronghold of terrorists.
According to Al-Najaf News reports on Thursday the Ayatullah was
kidnapped along with his brother Alhaj Abbas Ali Akbar Al-Attar and
two of his aides while they were on their way to the holy city of
Najaf that houses holy shrine of Master of Believers Al-Imam Ali bin
Abi Taleb (p).
His brother and two aides were also found dead.
Ayatullah Al-Attar, one of Holy Najaf Hauzah scholars and a leader of
Hezb Ad-Dawah party of Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jafari, spent all his
life in serving Islam.
A security source told that signs of torture and cuts of knife were
also visible on the body of the late Ayatullah. He said that signs
tell as if the late Ayatullah resisted to the terrorists and as a
result of it a bullet tore his hand.
