Gulf people denounce Kadhimiyah tragedy, hold majalis

KUWAIT CITY/ MANAMA: Gulf leaders and people have widely condemned
Kadhimiyah bridge tragedy in which more than 1,000 mourning devotees
were martyred on the anniversary of martyrdom of Al-Imam Mousa Al-Kadhim
(a.s.) on their way to his holy shrine to commemorate the occasion.
Over 50 clerics, intellectuals, authors and thinkers from eastern
region of Saudi Arabia issued a statement of condemnation and
condolence. They held sons of Satan and his followers from Ba’athists
responsible for the tragedy, urging the need of unity.
Majalis Tabiniyah arranged by different organizations were also held
at various husseiniyaat and mosques in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait for martyrs of Al-Kadhimiyah massacre, in which solution for
ongoing carnage of innocent Iraqi people was strongly demanded.
Also, various charity organizations and associations stood for sending
aid to the victims of Al-Kadimiyah tragedy.
Kuwait’s society of shia Muslim scholars, national accord association
and justice and peace union have issued statements in connection with
the tragedy. The statement urged OIC and Arab League to play a
practical role instead of mere lip service to stop terrorism in Iraq
because it not only threatens Iraq rather whole region.
