MONTREAL, Canada: For height of ranks of all martyrs of Iraq in general and Grand Ayatullah and philosopher Sayyed Muhammad Baqir As-Sadr, his sister Bentol Hoda and Ayatullah Sayyed Hasan Ash-Shirazi in particular, ‘Meherjan Shohadaa Al-Iraq’ (Iraq Martyrs Fair) was held in Canada.

Muslim Youth Club in Montreal organized the event with the cooperation of Al-Hauraa Foundation, mosque and husseiniyah Al-Hauraa Zeinab (A) Al-Karbalaiyah, Al-Imam Al-Khoei Foundation,Az-Zahraa (A) International Foundation, Iraqi Community Center and Ahlol Beit (A) mosque.

The event consisted of two parts: an exhibition in which photos of Iraq from 20s revolution till to-date, pictures and documents of nearly 700 martyrs and the bomb attack against the holy hrine of Al-Imamain Al-Askariain in the holy city of Samarra were displayed; a gathering was held beginning with the recitation of holy Quran by Alhaj Hasan followed by Youth Club who presented national anthem. Iraq’s ambassador to Canada, Dr Ismail Kadhim and Sayyed Ahmed Al-Hakim addressed while poet Abo-Muhammad Hadi presented eulogies.

A number of religious scholars and prominent figures attended the program ended with a play on realities of the Ba’athist regime.
