Pak “Importance of Marja’iyyat” seminar honors Baqir-us-Sadr, Bint-ul-Huda; Moosavi pays tributes to Maraje

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: An Ulema Seminar was held at Jamia-tul-Murtaza Islamabad on the topic of “Importance of Marja’iyyat” to mark the death anniversary of Marje Kabeer, world thinker and great philosopher Shaheed Baqir-us-Sadr and his great thinker and Mujahida sister Bint-ul-Huda.

Hojjatul Islam Allama Abu Jafar An-Naqvi, intellectual and researcher Allama Muhammad Ali Haleemi, Mufakker-e-Islami Raja Basharat Imami, Dr. S.M. Rizvi, Dr. Z.H. Naqvi, Agha Syed Muhammad Murtaza Moosavi Advocate and various other personalities addressed.

Highlighting the importance and character of Marja’iyyat, they said that they are imbibed to the Maraje Haq who protected Maktab-e-Tashayyo from all types of evil with sincerity of purpose in Zamana-e-Ghaibat and disseminated the sayings and targets of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Ahle Bait Atahaar (A.S.) to us with sincerity of purpose.

Khateeb Fateh-e-Furat Haider Zaidi read out the message of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi on this occasion. The excerpts from the message are:

“From the beginning of Ghaibat-e-Kubra of Hazrat Imam Mahdi (A.S.) the Marja’iyyat has played a high and important role to-date. The Maraje Uzzam promoted Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen, highlighted the respect to humanity and mankind and protected the Maktab Jafar ibne Muhammad (A.S.) at every level. From the beginning of Ghaibat-e-Kubra to the Maraje Kubar at present, the Maraje Uzzam have given uncountable sacrifices for the protection of the Maktab and from amongst them are world thinker and great philosopher Shaheed Baqir-us-Sadr and his Mujahida and Mujtahidah sister Bint-ul-Huda, who raised voice against Saddam’s Taghooti government’s oppression and protected Marjaiyyat by sacrificing their life in a way that would be a beacon of light for the next generations to come.

Therefore, when a dictator and tyrant ruler tried to make Pakistan a sectarian State sabotaging the principles of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, at that time I consulted different Maraje besides writing a letter to Ayatollah Baqir-us-Sadr in 1979. His reply to me is given as below:

Bismillah Hir-Rahman Nir Raheem
Dear Allama Jaleel Syed Hamid Al-Moosavi An-Najafi, Damut Barakat
Assalam-o-Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakat

We are in receipt of your letter in which you have written about the government resolve to enforce Islamic commandment and about Shia Imamia demand to take Fiqh Islami Imami (Fiqh-e-Jafariya) as it is. We appreciate your Islamic interest and wisdom of you and your colleague ulemas regarding leadership responsibilities in these deciding moments of history of your great country and in this connection desire you to stress on the following three realities.
1. The first reality is that enforcement of Islam is the binding duty and reiteration of Islam in all aspects of life is a necessary condition to bring the Muslim Ummah back towards its supremacy and real so as to overcome backwardness, anarchy and destruction. All Muslims recognise this reality and the Shia Imamia are in the forefront amongst them who had always been in the vanguards of torch-bearers of Islam and those who render sacrifices in way of Islam. Hazrat Amirul Momineen Ali (A.S.) kissed martyrdom in way of Islam and enforcement of Islam and Syed-us-Shuhada Imam Hussain (A.S.) kissed martyrdom in way of Islam and for enforcement of Islam at the holy soil of Karbala.
2. The second reality is that enforcement of Islam on the present society demands a live, movable and universal Ijtehad that may be capable of seeking help from both ‘Masader’ (sources), Masader-e-Oola i.e. Kitaab-e-Kareem and Sunnat-e-Sharifa directly for life’s complete manifesto so as to overcome distance of time, cropping up of new difficulties and the complications gathered during the 1300 years. Practically restricting only to this limited experience that had been practised by Moeen-e-Fuqaha in the past history amongst which there is a distance of many centuries, is not possible because definite is Shariat only, Ijtehad in only limited to the desires of Mujtahid’s own society and the limits of difficulties of his own era. The Mujtahid’s suggestions could not form the basis of Islamic life despite keeping too much asset in fiqh. The ultimate result is that we need a life and movable Ijtehad rather different types of Ijtehad of the like. It is always binding on the ruler to select that suggestion from amongst the suggestions of those Mujtahideen who present these to Islam and Shariat with righteousness, that are nearer to the essence of Islam and Masaleh Ummat-e-Muslimah and are more commensurate with the Qayam and survival of the Muslim Ummah.
3. The third reality is that Fiqh Islamic Imami (Fiqh-e-Jafariya) is such school of thought amongst great Islamic Fiqh that has continued its practical movement and Ijtehad alive and that has kept the practice of Fiqh and Ijtehad under control in all eras and in this school of thought Ijtehad and Mujtahideen had always been in authority in solving the difficulties of life in accordance with Shariat as their books on Islamic economics and other aspects of life argue. This thing declares it necessary for the rulers to accept this reality and to become above board of sectarian conditionalities and declare this live fiqh (Fiqh-e-Jafariya) one of the bases of recent enforcement of Islam.

You should keep this statement in mind. We pray to Allah to honour the Pakistan’s Muslim Millat to work for the supremacy of Kalma-e-Islam. Salam and blessings of Allah on you and other Muslims of Pakistan.—Muhammad Baqir-ul-Sadr

No doubt, it is the biggest achievement of the Tehreek today that Pakistan is not a sectarian State rather is an Islamic State. That is what our basic ideology is that is clearly mentioned in the Article 2 of the Constitution according to which Pakistan’s official religion is none of the sects or schools of thought but Islam. Today Maktab-e-Jafar ibne Muhammad (A.S.) is getting promotion all over the world is the fruit of sacrifices rendered by our Maraje Uzzam whether they are in Lebanon, Iran, Najaf-e-Ashraf or elsewhere and I pay tributes to them from the core of my heart.

Maraje are confronted with oppression and brutality even at this time. Satanic forces desire to pitch brother against brother, Maslak against Maslak through their heinous conspiracy and this game is being played in many countries including Afghanistan and Iraq while Pakistan is its target for the last quarter century. We all schools of thought have thwarted every heinous conspiracy of these forces through practical unity and brotherhood and would continue to do so jointly in future also defeating them Inshallah.

May Allah give us courage to follow those principles of Muhammad (SAW) and Aal-e-Muhammad (A.S.) that have been practised by Maraje Uzzam and Ulema-e-Haq. The coming generations could achieve height by sticking to these principles.”

Mukhtar Students, Ibrahim Scouts, Mukhtar Generation jawans manned the reception while Syed Jon Ali Shah Mash’hadi performed the duties of Stage Secretary of the Seminar.
