Eid-i-Zahraa, Day of Tatweej Al-Imam Mahdi being celebrated

By: Raza Ali

WASHINGTON, United States: Eid-i-Zahraa (Feast of Zahraa), also known as Eid-i-Shoja’a, is being celebrated across the globe with due enthusiasm and honor on Rabi-ol Awwal 9 marking the end of 2-month and 8 day mourning period.

It was Rabi-ol Awwal 9 when after years of crying for Imam Husain (as) and his companions, Imam Ali bin Husain Zain-ol Abideen (as) had a smile on his face and Ahl-ol Bayt (as) brought their mourning to an end as Mokhtar Ath-Thaqafy (ra) took the revenge from the murderers of Imam Hussain (as) by killing them all in the same manner as they did, and then he sent their heads including that of ibne ziyad and umer bin sa'ad to Imam Zain-ol Abideen (as) who then prostrated in thanks to Allah and said, "Thanks to Allah for He took revenge from our enemies" and he prayed for Mokhtar (ra) in these words: "May Allah reward Mokhtar good" (Behar-ol-Anvar vol: 45, Jame- ur- Ruwaat vol:02)

This day is also the first day of imamate of the Last Imam of Era Al-Imam Al-Mehdi (as). Because of this event, this day enjoys more heights of honor and excellence.

Marking the auspicious occasion, grand celebratory programs, as the sun of 8 Rabi-ol Awwal set, have begun at beautifully decorated shrines, husseiniyaat, imam baras and mosques.
