Jordan holds Ayatullah Sayed At-Tabatabayi

AMMAN, Jordan: Jordan authorities have arrested Ayatullah
Sayed Muhammad Ali At-Tabatabayi during his return from
zyaratol Atbaat Al-Moqaddesah (visitation of holy shrines) in
Iraq while he was pasing through Jordan.
According to sources close to the Ayatullah he was arrested on
allegation of inviting followers of Ahlul Beit (A) in Jordan
to the establishment of mosque and husseiniyah in the country.
It is worth noting that Jordan’s Interior Minister Idd Al-Fayez
had said the government will never give permission to build
husseiniyahs and Mosques for Mo’minin in the country.
His statement came in response to information that revolved in
Amman that Iraqi businessmen are struggling to construct a big
Jamay mosque along with a husseiniyah on a large piece of land
in Jordan worth more than $ three million.
