Europe witnesses Hussaini majalis, processions

PARIS, France: From Berlin to Brussels, and Paris to London, Amsterdam, The Hague and Malmo, in short, in all European parts ,Zikr-ol Hussein and Ahl-ol Beit (a.s.) in majalis al-aza continues to pay homage to the martyrs f Karbala who irrigated the tree of Islam with their blood some 1,400 years ago.

In Brussels, mourners attended the daily day and night majalis in large number. These majalis were held at mosques, hussainiaat and imambaras including Ar-Rahman mosque and Al-Hadi hussainiah. The majalis were organized in Arabic, Urdu and Turkish languages.

In Den Haag, Holland, a daily majalis al-aza program continued for more than 13 days of Moharram. Two halls for men and women mourners were filled daily with the Hussaini mourners. Sayyed Mortadha Al-Kashmiri addressed.

Flocks of Hussaini mourners from across Holland attended 11-day majalis arranged by Khadmah Mokab Ahabab Al-Abbas organization in Den Haag. Representative of Marjay As-Sistani, Al-Allamah Sayyed Mortadha Al-Kashmiri addressed followed by Hussaini elegies by Alhaj Abo-Yaqeen Al-Khazali.

On Sunday February 5, a massive Hussaini procession took to the streets of Den Haag.

In Utrecht city, Islamic Cultural Centre arranged a majlis after Ashura addressed by Abo-Muhammad Al-Waeli. He spoke about burial of holy bodies of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his near and dear ones by Bani Assad tribe. Sayyed Hasan Al-Mo’men recited Hussaini dirges followed by dinner.

In German cities, speakers while addressing the Hussaini majalis threw light on high status of Imam Hussain (a.s.), objective of Hussaini qayam, and his departure from Holy Medina and then from Holy Makkah to Karbala.

In Sweden, Jamiah wa Mosalla Al-Imam Al-Hussain (a.s.) in Malmo city organized first Ashra of Moharram majalis to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Sibt-or Rasul (s.w.), Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his near and dear ones. Sheikh Abdulamir Al-Khaffaji addressed the majalis that held after congregational maghrebain prayers. Alhaj Abo-Adel recited Ziarah of Imam Hussain (a.s.) while Mulla Abo-Zahraa Al-Hamzavi, Mulla Hani Al-Hilli and Mulla Nomayr recited dirges. Later dinner was served on the table of Imam Hussain (a.s.) as Tabarrok.

Al-Imam Al-Montazar Foundation, Khoddam Al-Hussain Organization, Shabab Al-Qassem Association and many others organized majalis to revive the sad occasion.
Sheikh Abo-Saddok Al-Basari addressed majalis that were held under arrangements of Al-Imam Al-Montazar Foundation. Sheikh Hadi As-Sarraf and Al-Mostafa recited elegies.

Majalis arranged by Khoddam Al-Hussain Organization were addressed by Sheikh Riyadh Al-Miahi. He urged the need to follow in the footsteps of Ahl-ol Bet (a.s.) for success, and termed sirah of Sayyedah Zeinab (a.s.) and her brother Hussain (a.s.) an example for the youth. Sheikh Hadi As-Sarraf, Sheikh Majed and Sheikh Abo-Ja’far offered dirges throughout the majalis.

Shabab Al-Qassem Association held majalis programs on the personality of Qassem bin Al-Hasan Al-Mojtab (a.s.), 13-year-old groom of Karbala. It organized hena programs in which trays of hena, candles and flowers were decorated.
