LONDON, Britain: Like other European countries, series of 10-day majalis al-azaiyah to commemorate Tragedy of At-Taff in which Al-Imam Al-Hussain (a.s.) along with his 72 near and dear ones was martyred unjustly at the ands of Yazid.

Various organizations and missions have made arrangements to hold mourning programs at different locations in London as well as other cities.

Large numbers of people attend these majalis and by performing matam, reciting elegies and describing sufferings of Al-Imam Al-Hussain (a.s.) signify their deep grief over unjust killing of grandson of Chief of Prophets (s.w.) for whom the holy Prophet (s.w.) prolonged his prostration when he came on his back during his prayer.
