Kuwait Majales-i-Husseini condemn offending caricatures

KUWAIT CITY: Month of Moharram started in Kuwait on Tuesday, and majales-i-azaa marking the martyrdom anniversary of Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali (p) kicked off at more than two hundred husseiniat, housed across the tiny country.

While addressing 2nd day majles at Al-Imam Ali (p) mosque, Jassem Al-Karbalayi severely condemned insult to holy Prophet (p) by European newspapers.

Sayyed Dakhel Hasan addresses at husseiniah Al-Imam Al-Mortadha (p). in is speec, Sayyed Dakhel denounced the printing of offensive caricatures in Western publications.

Sheikh Muhammad Baqer Al-Fali addresses majales at husseiniah Ar-Rasol Al-Karbalaiyah.

Addressing the first majles attended by thousands of husseini mourners, Al-Fali said Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) sacrificed his life for protection of religion which is the fundamental law for life. He said love for Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) runs in our hearts as blood runs in our veins. He further told that when holy Prophet (p) ascended to heavens, and later asked what he saw there, he replied: “I saw written on throne ‘Al-Hussein torch of guidance and ship of deliverance’.”

First night majlis at husseiniah Alhaj Abbas in As-Shamiah was addressed by Sheikh Kadhim Al-Ameri. He extended condolence to the whole Islamic Ommah marking martyrdom of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p), his Ahl-i-Bayt (p) and companions in the tragedy of At-Taff some 1,400 years ago. He highlighted causes of Imam (p)’s departure to the holy city of Makkah along with his household and then to Kufa. He described masaeb and paid homage to the martyrs of Karbala.

Dr. Muslim Al-Jaberi addresses majales at Diwan Sayyed Hussein Al-Hayeri. Religious scholars also attend. He threw light on dignity of the mourning month of Moharram since the era of Prophet Ibrahim (p).


Muharram crescent marked with tears, majalis, black dresses

AUCKLAND, New Zealand: As the crescent of Muharram gave its emergence, mourners of Hazrat Imam Hussain bin Ali Ibn-e-Abi Talib (A.S.) the world over wore black mourning dresses, spread mourning carpets in Imambargahs, Imambaras, Ashour-Khanas, Aza-Khanas, Hussainiyaat and Islamic centers, decorated relics, and hoisted Alam (standards) of Hazrat Abbas (A.S.) paying rich homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his 72 companions.
