NEW YORK, United States: Through out the world, the month of Muharram stands as a reminder to mankind for the heroic struggle and martyrdom of Imam Husain (a.s.), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.), against the corruption and destruction of human rights by the tyrant ruler Yazid, son of Muawiya.
 
To mark the occasion, chain of majalis-e-aza-e-Husaini was in continuation at mosques, imambargahs, husainiaat and Islamic centers across the country being addressed by religious scholars and speakers.
 
Commemorating the martyrdom of the benefactor of mankind Imam Husain (a.s.) and his seventy-two rightly guided followers, 21st annual mourning procession is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 5th, 2006. Starting Point: 50th and Park Ave 10:00 AM Sharp, Ending Point: 65th and Madison 4:00 PM.
