ALEPPO, Syria: To celebrate Eid`ol Ghadir, or the Feast of Ghadir on Dhol-hejjah 18, magnificent spiritual festivals were held across Syria with due respect.

Eid`ol Ghadir marks the auspicious day when the last prophet of Allah, holy Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah (peace be upon him and his pure progeny) declared Al-Imam Ali Al-Mortadha (peace be upon him) his first infallible successor by the command of Allah Almighty.

A festival in this connection was organized at Al-Imam Zein`ol Abidin (peace be upon him) mosque in Aleppo attended by large number of devotees. The program opened with recitation of Quranic verses. Later Sheikh Said, Husseini speaker Sayyed Badr and Husseini speaker Sheikh Jalal Ma’ash addressed and highlighted event of Ghadir and Muslims responsibility regarding this great day. They also threw light on Al-Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)’s attitude towards friends and foes.

World renowned eulogist/ dirge-chanter Al-Haj Bassem Al-Karbalayi scented the festival as well as the whole city with eulogies in praise of Ali Al-Mortadha (peace be upon him) in his Alavi sweet voice.
