Sayedah Zeinab (A) City hosts mourning ceremony on Samarra tragedy

DAMASCUS, Syria: To mourn and condemn the destruction of holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali Al-Hadi (AS) and Al-Imam Al-Hasan Al-Askari (AS), 10th and 11th infallible descendants of holy Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah (SW), on February 22 in the holy city of Samarra, a mourning ceremony was held in Damascus.

Damascus is home to the holy mausoleums of Sayyedah Zeinab bint-e-Ali (AS) and Sayyedah Sakinah Bint-ol Hossein (AS).

Figures belonging to different stratums of life attended the ceremony at hosseiniyah Al-Imam Zein-ol Abidin (AS) in As-Salihiyah area.

The participants strongly condemned the heinous crime of desecrating the holy shrines and insulting the holy progeny of holy Prophet (SW), and prayed for early reappearance of Al-Imam Al-Hojjah (AS) and unity.
