By: Abdulali

AL-AWAMIYAH, Saudi Arabia: Preparations to observe Arbaeen Al-Husseini on Safar Al-Aghar 20 have been finalized in oil-rich mo’mineen-dominated Saudi eastern parts.

Arbaeen marks fortieth day after the martyrdom of Al-Imam Abi Abdellah Al-Hussein (p) along with his 72 near and dear ones some 1,400 years ago in the scorching desert of Karbala for defense of Islam and Shariah and safety of high human values.

In Saudi Arabia, Husseini mourning is commemorated till 8th of Rabi’ Al-Oulaa – 3rd Islamic month. During this period, joyful parties are not held.

Various organizations and associations throughout the eastern region have arranged majales and processions to mark Arbaeen.

Maukab Osh-Shaq Al-Hussein in Al-Awamiyah has announced its Tatbeer (slitting heads with large sharp swords to signify grief over the unjust slaughter of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p)) program. Their Tatbeer procession will be taken out from in front of Ma’tam Karbala on Monday 20 Safar at noon.

A majlis Al-Arbaeen will be held on Monday night under arrangements of Maukab Al-Ansar. Husseini elegist Fadhil Najran will participate and revive the occasion with reciting elegies.
