DAMASCUS, Syria: Arbaeen Al-Husseini or the fortieth
day after the martyrdom of Abi Al-Ahrar Imam Hussein (a.s.) along with
his 72 faithful companions some 1,400 yeas ago was respectfully marked
in Syria on 20 Saffar, 2nd Islamic month.
In this connection, majalis al-azaiyah organized by different
associations were held in various cities drawing flocks of mourners
and pilgrims of Sayyedah Zaynab (a.s.).




A six-day (Saffar 15-20) majalis program was held at husseiniyah Al-Ketab
val Itrah in Sayyedah Zaynab area in Damascus. Sheikh Jalal Ma’ash
spoke on Husseini revolution, while husseini dirge-chanter Haydar As-Saghir
Al-Kadhimi recited dirges on the occasion. The program was organized
by Abo’l Fadhl Al-Abbas (a.s.) Association.
Khadamah Ahl-ol Bayt (a.s.) revived the occasion by holding five-day
majalis al-azaiyah at husseiniyah Al-Hozah Al-Ilmiyah Az-Zaynabiyah in
Sayyedah Zaynab area in Damascus.

Addressing the majalis, Sheikh Abdur-Ridha Ma’ash threw light on
lessons got from husseini revolution as well as importance of Arbaeen
commemoration. He termed personalities of Fatimah Az-Zahraa (a.s.) and
Sayyedah Zaynab (a.s.) as best example for women to follow. Sayyed
Hasan Al-Karbalayi recited dirges.
