By: Sultan Ahmed

SANAA, Yemen: Yemeni Shia and Sunni leaders have denounced extremists’ calls for the government to raze holy shrines, mausoleums and signs of holy figures of Islam in Yemen.

Dr. Abdelkarim Jadban, member of Yemeni Majlis Al-Ommah and one of Shia scholars from Sa’ada, talking to Al-Arabiyah.net said such calls are aimed at fanning biases and cracks among people of the country.

A call by extremist speaker in Ma’bar, Yemen, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Imam to demolish holy shrines and graves has caused anger throughout Yemen.
