AL-MANAMA, Bahrain: Majales wa mawakeb al-azaa, or the
mourning sittings and processions, to commemorate the
martyrdom anniversary of sixth infallible descendant of holy
Prophet (S), Al-Imam Ja’fer As-Sadeq (A), were held across
Bahrain like other countries.
Hundreds of thousands of black-dressed mourners attended these
programs, which began on the eve of 25 Shawal, at mosques,
husseiniyaat, ma’atam and streets, and performed chest beating
thus extended their condolence to the last imam of era Al-Imam
Al-Mehdi Al-Hojjah (A), while renowned elegists recited
elegies.
Speakers in their addresses at the occasion highlighted pious
life and character of the imam (A), founder of Fiqh Al-Ja’feri.
