RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Marja’a Shian-e-Jehan Zaeem Hoza Deenya Iran and Syria, Hazrat Ayatollah Al-Uzma Shaikh Mirza Jawwad Tabrezi breathed his last in Quml-Muqaddisa, Iran. He was 90. All religious institutions and Hoza Ilamia in Pakistan have been closed down on hearing this tragic news. He will be buried in Qum Al-Muqaddisa on Wednesday morning. The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, in a statement issued from the TNFJ Markaz has announced to observe “Youm-e-Tarheem” on Wednesday, November 22.

Agha Moosavi said that Ayatollah Al-Uzma Shaikh Mirza Jawwad Tabrezi was the first ranking from amongst the Maraje-Kubaar who taught and served in Hoza Ilmia Najaf-e-Ashraf for 23 years. He was known as the Ustad-e-Kabeer of Usool and Fiqh. He was arrested by the Baath Government on his way back to Najaf-e-Ashraf from Karbala after performing Ziarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.) in 1397 Hijra and was shifted to Iran after his release where he utilized his energies in teaching and training students for the last three decades. He said Ayatollah Al-Uzma Jawwad Tabrezi gave uncountable ulema and Fuqaha to society in 53 years.

The TNFJ chief made it clear that he had the honour of joining the Dars-e-Fiqh and Usool of Ayatollah Jawwad Tabrezi in 1961 and he were included in the first Dars-e-Ijtehad of his. He said he was very soft and Faqih and his style to deliver was strong and based on arguments. He was supportive to Mujtahids and on the basis of this, students used to boast on joining his Dars. He said Ayatollah Shaikh Jawwad Tabrezi was the real follower of Maktab Jafar ibne Muhammad (A.S.), preacher, and a big Azadar who used to participate in Azadari procession bare-footed. He said the gap created in the world of Fiqh by his death is difficult to fill.

Presenting his heartfelt grief to his son Hojjatul Islam Shaikh Jafar Tabrezi, all Maraje-Uzzam, ulema, students, and followers, he appealed to organize Quran Khwani and Majalis-e-Aza on the occasion of Youm-e-Tarheem on Wednesday for raising the status of Ayatollah Al-Umza Shaikh Jawwad Tabrezi.

Meanwhile, TNFJ committee has been formed to organize Youm-e-Tarheem programmes. Malik-e-Ashtar has been nominated as Convener and Maulana Malik Ijlal Haider Al-Qummi as Secretary of the Committee.
