Ya Ali Ya Ayliya … Layali Al-Hozn being marked in Bahrain

MANAMA, Bahrain: Hundreds of thousands of Bahrainis are
commemorating the anniversary of martyrdom of Al-Imam Ali bin
Abi Taleb (AS) during Layali Al-Hozn (nights of grief i.e.
Ramadan 19-21).
The three-day majales and mawakeb al-azaiyah (mourning
sittings and processions) began on 19th Ramadan and will
conclude on 21st of the holy month of fasting. Black ala’em
(standards of Al-Abbas bin Ali) have been set on houses,
buildings and streets to express deep grief.
Renowned dirge-chanters from Iraq and Saudi Arabia are also
participating in the Haidari mourning in the tiny gulf kingdom
by reciting elegies marking the sad occasion.
