Saudi authorities shut Al-Imam Al-Mehdi (A) mosque

By: Abdulali

AL-AHSAA, Saudi Arabia: Saudi authorities on last Wednesday in the first week of the holy month of Ramadan have sealed with chains Al-Imam Al-Mehdi (A) mosque in Al-Monezla in Al-Ahsaa province saying it has no license.

It is worth-noting that congregational prayer has been held in the mosque for the last six years led by Sheikh Habib Al-Ahmed and Sayyed Taher As-Salman mostly.

People have strongly protested the authorities to open the mosque for prayers during this holy month.

In the kingdom, construction of mosques of Shiias and husseiniyaat was banned by the Saudi government. And those who tried to build mosque or husseiniyah were punished with imprisonment.

But during the last few years, the authorities conditionally allowed Shiias to erect their mosques and husseiniyaat.
