Saudi monarch cautions against sectarian strife

By: Abdulali

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah warned that stoking sectarian differences could threaten the kingdom's unity and security.

He was addressing the opening session of the kingdom's Shura (consultative) council.

“The stirring up of sectarian conflicts ... and the superiority of one part of the society over another contradict Islam, and pose a threat to national unity and to the security of society and state," he said.

"The challenge that faces us is to protect this national unity and to strengthen it," he told the members of the appointed council.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE ..
