Najaf Marje’ urges UN, AL, OIC to curb crimes against humanity

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Ayatullah Sayyed Muhammad Said Al-Hakim in the holy city of Najaf has strongly condemned two car bomb blasts in the holy city of Karbala which left more than 200 pilgrims of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) and his brother Al-Abbas (AS) martyred and wounded.

“We denounce this criminal act,” the Ayatullah said a a statement issued from his Holy Najaf office.

Over 200 innocent devotees of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) and Al-Abbas (AS) were martyred near the holy shrine of Al-Abbas (AS) on Saturday April 28 when they were heading to the shrines for evening prayers.

He held international and regional powers i.e. United Nations, Arab League, and OIC responsible to restrict such grave offenses against humanity which give courage to the criminals to keep continue their crimes.

He urged officials to activate Anti-Terrorism law to curb terrorism.

The statement prayed for high ranks of the martyrs, patience and forbearance for the bereaved families and early recovery of the wounded.
