Annual Hussaini commemoration in Australia

SYDNEY, Australia: On 10TH of Muharram (on the Islamic calendar), and 30TH of
January, 2007 (Gregorian calendar), Muslims residing in Sydney gathered
together under the supervision of his eminence Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Al-Ansari
on the streets of Sydney to express their grief for the climax of the
remembrance of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as), the son of Ali Ibn Abi
Taleb (as) and Fatima Zahra (as), daughter of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him and his pure progeny).
It was the third annual Ashura procession.
Hussain (as) along with seventy- two members of his family and close friends
was savagely slaughtered in the desert of Karbala in the year 61 AH (approx
AD 685), by Yazid the tyrant and oppressive ruler at the time.
