AL-AHSAA, Saudi Arabia: In commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Al-Imam Ali bin Al-Hussein Zein’ol Abidin (AS) on Moharram 25, grand mourning gatherings – majalis wa mawakeb al-azaiyah – were held across the oil-rich mo’minin-dominated eastern region of Saudi Arabia.

Addressing a majlis al-azaiyah, organized by Maktabato Sayed Al-Khoei in Al-Matirfi city of Al-Ahsaa, on Moharram 24 at husseiniyah Sayedah Az-Zahraa (AS), Sheikh Abdeljalil Alban Sa’ad threw light on historic perspective of Karbala Tragedy as well as role of Al-Imam Ali bin Al-Hussein (AS) in keeping Husseini revolution continue.

He further described sufferings of Al-Imam As-Sajjad (AS). Ali Alabd Al-Azim, WAsil Al-Jassem, Habib Al-Bajhan, and Issa Al-Bajhan recited elegies. Arrangements for ladies were made at husseiniyah Al-Mortadha (AS). Dinner was served from the table of Al-Imam As-Sajjad (AS).

In Al-Awamiyah, Mokeb Sayed-osh-Shohadaa (AS) took out a procession from in front of Ar-Rasul Al-Adham (SW) mosque on Tuesday Moharram 25. Husseini elegist Habib Al-Bahrani recited dirges.

Mokeb husseiniyah As-Sibtayn revived the occasion on Moharram 25 at the husseiniyah in At-Tarf, Al-Ahsaa. Bahrain’s renowned elegist Abdel-amir Ad-Darazi made special participation.

In Safwa city, Mokeb Az-Zahra (AS) organized mourning programs to mark the sad occasion.

A Maseerah Azao Husseini (Husseini mourning procession) on Moharram 25 organized by Mokeb Amir’ol Mo’minin (AS) in Al-Qatif drew thousands of mourners. Hussein Al-Hammadi presented dirges. The procession began from Sahatol Qala’ah and culminated at husseiniyah An-Nahash.

Educational institutes, bazaars and business in the region were shut.
