Public holiday in Oman marking Muharram

MUSCAT, Oman: To mark the beginning of the month of mourning,
Muharram, the Omani government has declared Saturday a public holiday.
The separate holiday announcements for the public and private sectors
were issued by Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan
of Royal Court, Chairman of the Civil Service Council, and Dr Juma bin
Ali bin Juma, Manpower Minister.
