Al-Aza Al-Husseini in Essen: Karbala shrines flags to be taken out

ESSEN, Germany: Marking the mourning month of Muharram, Mokib
Shiiatu Ali (AS) commemorates Al-Aza Al-Husseini in the German city of
Essen.
The 12-day majalis (January 20–31, Muharram 1-12) begin with
recitation of Quranic verses and ziarat-i-Ashura. Sheikh Ali Al-Amiri,
Sheikh Abo-Sadeq Al-Khazai addresses the majalis highlighting the
objective of Husseini Qayam. Renowned elegist Sayyed Raed Al-Karbalayi
from Sweden recites Husseini elegies followed by meal from the table
of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS).
On seventh of Muharram, special azadari rites will be held as black
standard, which had fluttered at the holy Husseini shrine in Karbala,
and the red flag (alam) that fluttered throughout the year at Al-Abbas
(AS) holy shrine in Karbala will be taken out.
