Hundreds of thousands in Bahrain mark supreme Husseini sacrifice

AL-MANAMA, Bahrain: In connection with the month of Moharram,
Majales wa Mawakeb Al-Azaa Al-Husseini (Husseini mourning sittings and
processions) are being held across Bahrain with due reverence.
 
Flocks of men, women and children attend these day-, night-long
majalis at thousands of husseiniyaat, ma’atam and mosques to pay
homage to the martyrs of Karbala whose lofty sacrifice in the
scorching desert of Karbala for defense of Shariah and safety of high
human values gave new lease of life to Islam.
