By: Sultan Ahmed

SANAA, Yemen: Yemeni journalists and rights activists gathered in Sanaa to protest against restrictions imposed on opposition-run electronic media for supporting Shia fighters fighting army troops in northern Yemen.

Protesters condemned the government for ordering blockage of two websites and two mobile SMS news services run by opposition groups.

Information ministry officials have said the two news websites, www.aleshteraki.net and www.al-shora.net, have been blocked for disseminating pro-Shia propaganda.
