ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: ‘Day of Protest’ against conferment of the
title of “Sir” upon Salman Rushdie was observed throughout the country
on the appeal of Mukhtar Students Organisation Pakistan.
Peaceful demonstrations and protest demonstrations were conducted in
all the four provinces including Federal Capital Islamabad, Azad
Kashmir and Northern Areas.

A protest demonstration was organised in front of the Press Club
Camp Office, Islamabad under the leadership of Syed Baqir Hussain
Naqvi, Central President MSO and other leaders. The participants were
carrying banners, placards, and posters of Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya
Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi.
Baqir Naqvi, addressing the participants, said that the Queen of
Britain has tempered the grace of humanity by conferring the title of
Sir” upon a disgraceful person. He said if such a malicious person can
be conferred with such a great title then any thing is possible. A
resolution adopted on this occasion declared the apology tendered by
the British Foreign Minister for conferring the title of “Sir” upon
Salman Rushdie as “an excuse worse than an offence”. It said that it
is a disgrace and an insult for a literary world to award a title in
the name of literature to a disrespectful person.

The resolution made clear that Islam is a religion of all Anbia,
from Adam (A.S.) to Muhammad (SAAW), which promotes peace and
tranquillity, love and brotherhood but British Government should not
forget that blasphemy is a disgrace for Adam (A.S.), Noah (A.S.),
Ibrahim (A.S.), Moosa (A.S.), and Eisa (A.S.). The resolution said
that all present religions are condemning the title of “Sir” conferred
upon Salman Rushdie, as this title is synonymous to strengthen the
terrorists and a proof that Tony Blaire is not willing to wipe out
terrorism from all over the world.

The resolution states that the terrorism is a great oppression and
the era of Holy Prophet (SAAW) spread over 63 years, is evident and
the whole world accepts the fact that he had never been aggressive nor
unjust rather his aim was to restore justice and fair-play, and end
coercion, respect humanity and preach the message of peace.
It is also made clear in the resolution that suicide is Haram in
Islam, which, according to Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid
Ali Shah Moosavi is cowardice. So suicide attacks cannot be declared
legal and the statement of Imam-e-Kaaba given in Pakistan is evidence
to this point of view as being correct.
Another resolution strongly condemned daily Jang Rawalpindi for
refusing the publication of an advertisement for the protest day
against Rushdie. It is said that if the said paper is the spokesman of
blasphemy and Queen of Britain then its owners should leave Pakistan
and go to Britain.
