International al-Quds Day Observed in Nigeria

ZARIA, Nigeria: On last Friday of the holy Ramadan 5th October, 2007, Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky organized al-Quds day rally.

Thousands of people, men and women across the Nigerian cities took to the streets calling for the liberation of occupied Palestine and the holy city of Quds to mark the International Day of Quds.

In cities such as Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Jos, Zaria, Bauchi, Sokoto, Patiskum, Lagos, Abuja and other major cities across Nigeria the fasting people taking part in the rallies are chanting such slogans as "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" to express their hatred of the world hegemonic powers as well as the Zionist regime. They waved banners reading, "Beit-ul-Moqaddas, we are coming", "Beit-ul-Moqaddas belong to the Muslims and must be return to them". The demonstrators carried Palestinian and Hezbollah flags as well as pictures of the late Ayatollah Khomeini (K), founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei (KS), Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).

In some cities Parade by the Hurras (guard) dressed in colorful uniforms, holding banners of the Hizbullah resistance and the Palestine mark the Quds day rally. A special musical band played during the rally in honor of the Palestinian martyr. Participants in the parade shouted slogans denouncing Israel and pledging its defeat and victory of the of the Palestinians.

At the end of the rally, speakers were invited to deliver a closing speech.
Addressing the large gatherings, they pointed out that there was a need to avoid sectarian confrontation, which could only be achieved by forging unity. They condemned the illegal Palestinian occupation of Israel and extended full support to the helpless nation of Palestine. Speaking on the Israelis regime agents in Nigeria, they exposed the Sokoto state governor Alu Wamakko that waged recent and current attacks on shias in Sokoto. They pointed out that Wamakko was being leaded in this attacks by the Israelis especially having regard to the Sokoto Sultans frequents visits to Israel before and after the attacks.

Flags of Israel and America have been burnt after the closing prayers.

In the evening, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky delivered a brief lecture on Palestine after the closing of Tafseer. He urged the Muslims to unite and shun all differences created to them by their enemies. He pointed that meetings and conferences will not end the occupation of Palestine and Al Quds, the only solution is the unity of the Muslim Ummah and struggle against Zionist regime. They are always blackmailing Islam and Muslims with all their Medias and propaganda machines. He concluded with prayed for the end of Zionist regime and success of the Muslim Ummah.


Parade, festivals mark Nisfu Shaaban in Nigeria

ZARIA, Nigeria: Thousands of Muslim brothers and sisters attended a program marking the anniversary of the birth of Imam al Hujjah (a.t.f.) organized by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky. The program took place in the Fudiyya Islamic Centre Zaria City on Tuesday 15th Shaaban 1428.
